FAQ

All of the most frequently asked questions about Lengualytics you can find here.

Do you own the videos on this site?

We do not own the videos on this site. Lengualytics is a community-driven platform where users share and discover comprehensible-input content. We link to and embed videos from creators, but we are not affiliated with them unless explicitly stated, and we do not claim ownership of their work.

Do I need a link to create a time entry?

No. You can add a time entry by pasting a link, searching for a TV show, movie, audiobook, or podcast, or by adding a custom note. You can switch between these modes using the row of icons at the top of a resource in the Enter Time modal. To open the modal, click the Enter Time button on the Side Nav (or Top Nav on mobile).

How can I change my level?

You can change your level on the Settings page by changing your starting input hours for the language you’d like to adjust. To get to the Settings page on desktop, click the profile picture icon on the side navigation and you will see the Settings link. On mobile, the Settings link is in the More section on the bottom navigation.

How can I contribute videos to the site?

Video contribution is organic. Users naturally contribute to the site by tracking their time watching resources from all over the internet (mostly YouTube). Because users only log content they actually watch, the library stays high quality on its own.

Will Lengualytics always be free?

Yes. Lengualytics will remain free forever. Tracking your input time, discovering resources, and everything else core to the platform will never be behind a paywall. If we ever introduce premium features, they would only apply to small, secondary additions, never to anything fundamental to the language learning experience. The core platform is free, and that is not going to change.

I’m a creator and my unlisted videos are appearing on the site. What can I do?

If you see your unlisted content appearing on the site, please reach out to us. For a quick fix, include the phrase “this is an unlisted video” (case insensitive) in your video description and our system will automatically detect and handle it.
